Blue like Jazz

Tonight I finished Blue Like Jazz. To me this isn't just the end of a great book. You see I have always been lazy when it comes to reading. Unless I really wanted to read something. I would try but just not finish. But something had been turning in me. From the day I decided to get the book I knew something was different, this time. I really do believe its all because of the values that I am adapting and making my own at FRC. From the first day, I knew this was where I needed to be. My desire has always been to work for a church, to see lives moved and changed by the gifts that God has given me. And I cant believe that God would give me this opportunity. After all my slips and falls He still doesn't give up, still reaches out His hand and helps me back up.
The last chapter of Blue Like Jazz is beautiful, title "Jesus". Don writes about loving Jesus, truly loving Him as a person, not just knowing what the bible says but believing it with your heart. Its the turning point, the point where you realize that Hes not just a character in this book but an actual person. The point where all the pain, whips, punches, kicks, mocking, and nails, that He went through become real to you.
So thats that. Just wanted to share something with you. Aside from the weekly over views, the red chucks, the concert, and the sleeping worship pastors. Hope you enjoyed the different view. And if you haven't read Blue Like Jazz, don't worry i didn't spoil it, there's a lot more.
